ABOUT THE NAUTILUS
The nautilus shell is a powerful symbol for strength, growth, expansion, renewal and rebuilding.

The Nautilus is a cephalopod who lives in a chambered spiral shell, and once it outgrows one chamber of the shell, it builds a larger one and seals off the smaller ones it was in. The shell's overall shape remains unchanged as the creature grows.
The shell itself is very strong and can withstand extremely high pressure in depths up to 2,600 feet. Often referred to as a “living fossil,” the Nautilus is one of the oldest creatures known to survive in the earth's oceans, surviving past the dinosaur era.

The Nautilus shows us that growth and renewal are always possible within ourselves and represents leaving behind our past to grow in perfect balance and harmony into our present and future needs without changing who we are.
Like the Nautilus, once we've expanded beyond the space we were in, we find ourselves in a new, bigger space, in which we continue to learn and grow. And like the Nautilus, we can not go back into those smaller spaces—they simply no longer fit us.
The Self-Designed Life Course offers the tools to create that new space.
